Artist Samar Ghattas’ paintings reflect on the nature of human relationships and the complex meanings of love. The opus of Samar Ghattas offers special access to everyday life in Palestine as it reflects the perceptions and sensations of a young Palestinian woman negotiating the daily struggles of life in contemporary Palestine. Samar Ghattas lives and works in Bethlehem, where she teaches fine art at Bethlehem University. Her paintings combine dreams of escape with the horrors of war. Ms. Ghattas is a modern Palestinian visual Artist, she received her Master degree in fine arts and Graphic design from the Academy of Fine Arts in Kiev ,Ukraine and has exhibited in Palestine, England, Austria, Germany, Italy, and the US. Her work includes water color paintings, mixed media, Ink, Iconography, Ceramic, and Photoshop Digital Media. Samar’s Art is very unique in many aspects being one of a few Palestinian woman artists; she is able to merge the Palestinian culture and its social issues through her personal experiences.
This event is free and open to the public. Tasty snacks, mezza, and drinks will be served.
Exhibit will be on display August 7 – August 11 – 2:00 – 4:00 PM by appointment only.
